Swimming requires a lot of strength. Many swimmers have asked me what the best and most convenient exercise is for this, and I always tell them that it is push ups. Push ups are and excellent strength exercise that is great for swimming. I recommend starting out doing 10, and then gradually doing more. They should be done every day in sets of two for beginners.
What should I eat?
This is a commonly asked question by swimmers. Well, vegetables are the most important thing. Eat a variety of food and your plate should be colorful- no, this does not mean Skittles or candy! The best veggies for swimmers are green and leafy. If you need a snack, also be sure to grab fruits such as bananas, grapes, or strawberries. They taste great and give you lasting energy for a tough swim practice. If you are at school now, also STAY HYDRATED!!!! This is one of the most important things that a swimmer can do! Bring a water bottel to stay hydrated during classes. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to email me at swim-spot@yahoo.com
